JOB DETAILS

Base Pay starting at $25.00 per hour

1st Shift:  Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs scheduled and emergency maintenance on equipment, facility, etc. Corrects problems with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical components, Plumbing, and PLCs.  Maintains specified production and spare equipment.  Performs basic to moderately complex electrical repairs and installations.  Operates and assists in maintaining motorized equipment. Performs basic to moderately complex grounds/facilities repairs, as required. Interacts with vendors to complete projects or to repair equipment. Ensures accuracy and safety in all operations. Performs safety inspections, manages tool control.

  • Diagnose root cause of problem and correct issue with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components in plant machinery and equipment
  • Perform routine, predictive and preventive maintenance on all machinery. Document activity as required.
  • Maintain and repair motorized equipment
  • Operate manlifts and forklifts; transport heavy parts and equipment, and perform inspections on trucks. Corrdinates PM service with vendor
  • Identify needed parts to repair equipment and facility
  • Complete required paperwork to order new parts and to track existing parts
  • Coordinate maintenance of parts inventory with production and purchasing personnel
  • Fabricate metal parts (e.g. brackets); perform welding as required, orders materials and supplies as needed
  • Perform basic to moderately complex electrical repairs and installations
  • Coordinate service calls and repairs
  • Complete daily forklift safety/damage inspection checks
  • Perform grounds/facilities repairs as needed
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required
  • Maintain supplies at workstation; Keep tools organized, batteries charged
  • Train other Maintenance Associates
  • Train other plant associates on equipment and procedures
  • Respond to on-call emergencies as needed
  • Attend weekly shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings, if required
  • Actively participate in all plant safety programs, tasks as assigned
Qualifications

Education

  • High school graduate/GED

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of maintenance experience, at least one year of which must have been in mechanical and electrical maintenance

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance scheduling and implementation required
  • Knowledge of basic carpentry and tooling
  • Must have excellent mechanical aptitude. Basic computer skills also required

Mental/Physical/Visual Demands

  • Position requires walking, standing, heavy lifting, bending, and twisting
  • Must have correctable hearing and eyesight
  • Must be able to pass colorblindness test and be able to keep colors separate
  • Ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with on-the-job training
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work with some limited supervision to perform job
  • Must be skilled in working with hand and electrical tools

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and dust
  • Work involves exposure to high voltage equipment and rapidly moving machinery

Equipment/Tools Used

  • Amp probe, basic hand tools, forklift, bobcat, hand power tools, welder, grinder, air hammer, torch, plasma cutter, soldering iron, volt meter, utility knife
  • Hearing protection, safety glasses, N95v Dust Mask, and steel toed shoes required
