Door Boxer

Position Summary

This position boxes doors and other products as part of the production process, prior to shipment to customers.

Essential Functions

• Take finished door panels from assembly tables and process through panel wrapper.
• Make sure that all labels are correct for the product in the box or plastic wrap.
• Always have boxes and other shipping materials available to keep the production line moving.
• Help assemblers turn over doors as needed, usually 50 lbs. or heavier.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Must be able to read prints and understand measuring equipment such as tape measures, scales, and their decimals / fractions.
• Must be dependable, responsible, and have a “team” attitude.
• Must always be organized to learn quickly and keep work area in a productive state.
• Must be able to follow instructions from the Line Leader and others.
• Be flexible to work in another area of the door line or elsewhere in the shop.
• Will be respectful of all associates and have a positive attitude.

Education, Training, Experience

• High school diploma or GED is required.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Work is performed in a factory with exposure to extreme weather conditions; noisy, dusty, and dirty environments; and motorized equipment that pose potential safety hazards. Long periods of standing, as well as regularly walking, sitting, lifting, reaching, and bending, are required. Regularly lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Proper safety procedures, lifting techniques, and personal protective equipment are always required. This position may require extended hours and overtime depending on business needs.
