Machinist Level 3 (3rd Shift)

They are currently recruiting for a Machinist Level 3 job in Swanton, OH.

What Is In It For You

Salary: $30 – 34/hr + $2/hr shift premium, and lunch daily for 3rd shifters

Position Type: Permanent - Full-time

Shifts: These will be OFF SHIFT positions, so 2nd or 3rd shift. 2nd shift is 2 PM – 10 PM, 3rd shift is 10 PM – 6 AM. OT is to be expected for the foreseeable future in the 45 – 50 hour range per week.

A Day In The Life of a Machinist Level 3

The position you are applying for is responsible for operating one or more types of computer numerically controlled production equipment. You will select appropriate tooling, program, settings, holding tight tolerances, and makes adjustments as necessary. Can write and edit programs as required. You will perform tooling changeovers and keeps the work area organized. Collaborates with Machinist IVs and CNC Programmers to recommend changes or modifications to improve the efficiency of machining operations. You will also follow established quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties of The Machinist Level 3

• ALL of the level 1& 2 requirements or comparable experience
• Set up and operate Mazak Integrex-type machines or vertical mills with a 4th or 5th axis
• Effectively demonstrate Mastercam, NC, or proficient in conversational programming capabilities
• Understands fixturing requirements to assist in the development of medium-complexity fixtures
• Simultaneously run multiple CNC machines, both lathes and mills
• Optimize tool paths for efficiencies
• Assist with cross-training of new employees
• Ability to effectively operate 3 or more CNC work centers or 1 CNC work center and all manual operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical schooling or degree preferred
• 5 years minimum related experience and training on Mazak, HAAS, and Manual
• Machines in a manufacturing environment
• Must be able to read basic blueprints, technical drawings and operate equipment in a safe, efficient manner
• Ability to use various types of inspection equipment; micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.
• Performs first and last part inspection

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to bend, kneel and stoop frequently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Ability to follow all safety requirements
• Ability to work in small areas to perform the work
• Ability to climb step ladders as needed

Work Environment

• Normal shop environment that includes some exposure to noise, fumes, and dust.
