GIFT SHOP CLERK

Starting at $16.45 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Handle transactions involving cash. Work directly with guest in retail atmosphere.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Gift Shop Supervisor.

Must be efficient and accurate in making cash sales transactions either using computer or manually.

Prepare Cashiers report and drop sheet at end of shift.

Must work in a fast paced environment and be able to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds safely.

Must occasionally push, pull, stoop, lift and bend while cleaning.

Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings as needed.

Must be able to understand and follow oral and written directions.

Responsible for monitoring stock of in store merchandise and assist with monthly physical inventory for all items in gift shop and Vending Machines.

Submits requisition to Gift Shop Supervisor for needed inventory items.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

One to two years of college and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Six months to one year sales experience preferred. One to two years related supervisory experience preferred or a combination of education and experience.

Must be 18 or older.
