Yates Industries is currently looking for a CNC Lathe Programmer Operator in our Austell, GA plant!

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • CNC Lathe Programmer Operator will produce quality machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating thru part completion.
  • CNC Lathe Programmer Operator will write, store, and retrieve programs for machining parts.
  • Prioritize work orders for timely completion to accommodate customer needs.
  • CNC Lathe Programmer Operator will maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience operating CNC machine. Mill experience a plus.
  • Set up, running, and programming vertical & horizontals.
  • G code knowledge
  • Skilled in programming and operating CNC Mazak Lathes.
  • Mazak controls.
  • Nexus.
  • Write programs in Mazatrol controller and store programs.
  • PC fusion 640m.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints and/or specifications to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
  • Familiar with inspection equipment such as: micrometers, depth mic’s, O.D. mic’s, thread gauges and calipers.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of G&M Code and AutoCAD.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Equipment:

  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Micrometers
  • Measuring tools
  • Calipers

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

  • G Code proficiency is a must
  • Skilled in programing and operating CNC Lathes
  • Competent with Mazak Mazatrol, Mazak Fusion, and Fanuc Controls
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to read tape measures.
  • Ability to make offsets and program changes when needed.
  • Ability to schedule jobs on machines within department as required.
  • Knowledge of creating /writing programs and troubleshooting machine errors
  • Familiarity with all computerized numerical control tooling and methods of machining mills
