Job Description
The Material Coordinator is responsible for the continuous flow of parts information needed to support the aircraft maintenance visit. Monitors parts requests, purchase order status, due dates, and parts arrivals. The Material Coordinator will work to troubleshoot and resolve parts issues as they arise. Communicates material related issues that could affect aircraft workflow or aircraft redelivery date. Assist off-units parts processing in accordance with Company and Customer standards. Will act as liaison between the Company and onsite Customer for materials status of parts provided by the Customer.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Facilitate parts request from maintenance to either the sites purchasing department or to the Customer for procurement based on material classification guidelines.
2. Obtain approval from the Customer for overlimit purchases and AOG parts requiring additional fees above standard parts costs.
3. Order parts in the Company and Customer provided operating systems as required.
4. Verify stocked parts request for quick allocation and facilitate issuance to maintenance.
5. Daily monitoring of all parts ordered and the dissemination of parts status to onsite Maintenance leadership and Customer Representative.
6. Flagging parts issues that will affect a maintenance milestone and or redelivery of the aircraft and partnering with Maintenance, IPC, and Purchasing for alternative part options.
7. Partner with Purchasing for parts requiring outside service repairs or overhaul, track the part off station, receipt back to station, and issuance to the aircraft.
8. Coordinate with the Customer to obtain off-unit disposition of unserviceable parts removed from the aircraft and partner with Shipping to send them out of the facility.
9. Provide information to the Stockroom of allocated parts no longer required based on task card compliance.
10. Maintain a close working relationship between the Company’s Material departments, Maintenance departments and on-site Customer Representative.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Experience
Qualifications
Academic
High School Diploma or GED required.
Languages
Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Spanish a plus.
Previous Experience
Minimum one (1) year of related aviation industry experience. Knowledge of aircraft terminology, parts, labor, tasks, and processes.
Technical Skills
Position requires proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Inventory management and maintenance operating systems including customer systems.
