Electrical Techs,Journeyman Electricians,Apprentices,Helpers & Welders

Craftsmen Contractors is hiring Journeyman Electricians, Electrical Techs, Electrical Apprentices, Electrical Helpers and Welders for the Minden, La. area. Some experience or some relevant coursework in these areas is required.

This is for a manufacturing facility. These are temp to permanent positions and you will need to do a face to face interview. You will also need to pass a criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug screen prior to starting. The schedule is from Monday thru Friday working day shifts and will need to work an occasional Saturday.

Electrical jobs pay rate is $13 - $28/hr. depending on experience

Journeyman Electricians - up to $28/hr. depending on experience

Electrical Techs, Apprentices & Helpers - $13 - $23/hr. depending on experience.

Welders pay rate is $13 - $23/hr. depending on experience

No per diem is offered.

Electrician Job Duties:

• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Install complex conduit configurations per blueprint specification using appropriate tools.
• Mount electrical boxes, fixtures, and enclosures.
• Stock and set up electrical wire carts.
• Pull wire through conduit and makes ground connections.
• Install wire for complex configurations.
• Install and cover receptacles and switches.
• Properly perform wiring insulation resistance, continuity, and point-to-point terminations checks.
• Perform operational checks.
• Keep inventory of parts in the area.

Electrician Job Requirements:

• Prior electrical experience or relevant coursework is required for those who are willing to pursue a career in the electrical field.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.
• Able to read a tape measure.
• Read blueprints.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Demonstrate ability to perform multiple or semi-complex tasks with limited exercise of judgment.
• Trained and proficient in the National Electrical Code.
• Required to wear personal protective gear, such as protective eyewear and steel-toed boots.
• Required to work for extended periods of time in a standing position while installing equipment.
• Ability to work from a ladder.
• Required to work in confined spaces while installing equipment.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Required clarity of vision, with or without corrective lenses, for accuracy in installing components.
• Possess a high degree of attention to detail.
• Required to work around hazardous conditions sometimes which include extreme noise levels and electrical, automatic, and/or moving equipment.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Welders must have at least 1 -2 years of welding experience and will need to pass a welding test prior to being hired. Will need to have experience with vertical welds, flux core, 3G and MIG welding.

All candidates will need to pass a criminal background check (going back 7 years), drug screen (10-panel) and must do a face to face interview before being hired.
