Federal Funds Bookkeeper

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field preferred 

• 3 years of accounting experience, governmental preferred 

• Criminal background check and pre-employment physical clearance 

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

• Ensures accurate grant fund accounting and reports all federal grant expenditures on a timely basis to the Department of Education 

• Compiles grant project files with all relevant information to comply with federal regulations and auditing requirements, including semi-annual Time & Effort documentation 

• Reviews and approves purchase requisitions commensurate with grant funding 

• Coordinates the administration of grants with grant (project) managers, including: creating and maintaining grant-related accounts and budgets into the financial system, and providing support to system users and managers with information requests. 

• Reconciles District bank accounts and enters district revenues, including student activity accounts as needed 

• Prepares documentation, enters out-of-district and transportation into the Medicaid system, and submits billing for Medicaid 

• Assists Medicaid system users with billing issues and compliance questions 

• Provides information and support as necessary during annual audit and federal funds reviews 

• Cross trains as needed for coverage of other positions in the Business Office
