Position: Maintenance and Engineering Manager Direct Reports: 3 Reports To: Plant Manager Salary Range: $130K-$140K Bonus: 5% annual bonus Relocation: Possible Job Description Summary Provide leadership and direction across all aspects of preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance and site engineering functions. Develop and execute ideas and capital projects for Continuous Improvement of plant equipment and infrastructure. Lead, coach, and develop the Maintenance and Engineering Department to enable maintenance excellence and growth opportunities at the Fort Worth site. Key Responsibilities: Manage Maintenance and Engineering Department consisting of Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Scheduler/Planner, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, Reliability Engineer, and site Mechanics, Electricians, and Welders. Manage the maintenance and engineering compliance protocols across the site, ensuring robust tracking of maintenance data and metrics. Manage the site Capital plan, reporting, and associated implementation through department. Lead department in supporting plant optimization and efficiency projects (capital or otherwise), working closely with direct reports, Manufacturing Manager, and Process Engineers. Responsible for developing M&E Department budget and performance metrics and meeting the budget and goals. Set strategic priorities for M&E Department in cooperation with Plant Manager. Develop and foster a problem-solving culture that looks to establish root cause and not blame. Generate ideas, plans, and projects to enhance the performance of the plant equipment and infrastructure. Stimulate M&E personnel to think outside the box. Responsible for personnel employee development through growth, performance feedback, communication, involvement, skills enhancement, delegating responsibility, decision-making and coaching. Maintain preventative and predictive maintenance procedures and schedules including evaluation of existing procedures, calibrations, inspections and the development of new PM procedures. Track completion to plant metrics. Ensure compliance with safety critical inspection requirements: pipework and vessel inspections, pressure relief valves, critical instrumentation, asbestos, hazardous area classifications, emergency lighting, welding programs, and all other relevant requirements. Develop and maintain stores inventory processes using FMEA technique to establish requirements. Develop and maintain robust maintenance craft training and succession plan protocols. Develop and maintain an equipment and engineering drawing control process. Continually develop predicative maintenance techniques and strategies to move towards a TPM approach. Support implementation and maintenance of the company’s ISO 9001 and RC14001 management systems. Conformance with the company’s Quality and Environmental, Health, Safety and Security policies and awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements applicable to this position. Key Requirements: 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Preferred, Electrical or Chemical accepted with required experience). 5+ years maintenance and/ or engineering experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing setting. 3+ years supervisory experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing setting. Knowledge of and adherence to safety regulations. Good interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, good communication skills both verbal and written, strong technical aptitude, multi-task oriented. SAP experience preferred. Computer literate – expertise in Microsoft Office required. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred. Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate variety of electronic office equipment – computer, printer, radio, phone. At times, prolonged periods of sitting at desk working on computer/workstation and on calls. May occasionally need to lift up to 10 pounds. May occasionally need to bend, stoop, reach and/or twist at the waist. Ability based upon position and need to perform duties/visit/walk through a manufacturing environment with the following conditions; chemical and mechanical operations, dust and fumes, working within safe but proximity to forklift and machine operations, exposure to heat and humidity, hearing or talking around loud machinery. Wearing of personal protective equipment as required.
