THIS POSITION IS APPOINTIVE SERVICE

$4,078.97 to $4,486.87 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs skilled administrative work assisting in managing and coordinating all operational and administrative activities of the Utility Services Department, including water, wastewater, reclaimed water, and general operations. Work involves responsibility for project management, including the development and implementation of Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs) and maintenance projects; quality improvements; oversight of asset management activities; and assisting in preparing and submitting grant applications. Supervision is given to professional, paraprofessional, technical, and clerical personnel.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field PLUS six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a water and wastewater department or private utility, including three (3) years in a responsible managerial role. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.The following are preferred: Any water, wastewater, and/or reuse related license and/or certification issued by the State of Florida or any equivalent water, wastewater, and/or reuse certification issued by another state or approved agency.In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
