Job Title:  Stock Mix-up and #3 Board Line Manager

Description - Internal:

  • The primary responsibility of this position is to meet or exceed the company safety, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Responsible for the coordination and implementation of all safety activities within the department to maintain an injury-free workplace.
  • Responsible for effective training, motivation, and supervision of the department, which includes 1 Process Foreman, 2 Hourly Production Foremen, 6 hourly supervisors and approximately 33 production employees.
  • Responsible for directing the operation of Stock Mix-up and #3 Wetfelt Board Line Departments with an emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, housekeeping, and training. Effectively manage or collaborate with other plant functions on personnel, equipment, materials, inventory levels, production processes, and capital improvements to ensure products are manufactured that meet customer demand.
  • Must engage in process improvements through CI/Lean, CIC, and Tech Services initiatives, acting as the process owner, and drive operational improvements utilizing the Reliability Performance Model for all equipment to achieve efficiency targets.
  • Effectively recommend the hiring, promotions, transfers, rate changes, layoffs, and disciplinary action of employees within the Department. Also responsible for the consistent application of Company policies and practices.
  • Responsible for developing and improving employee engagement through implementation of Directions strategy with high focus on effective communication and employee relations throughout the department.
  • Responsible for the strategy planning and collaboration with reliability and engineering teams in development of all non-routine maintenance and capital improvement plans for the operation. Implement appropriate cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications - Internal:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and prior experience as a department manager is required.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), decision making and employee relations skills within a diverse workforce environment. Must have the ability to relate to others in all levels of the organization and be able to work collaboratively to achieve common goals.
  • Establish operational excellence with a high level of organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and implement Best-In-Class work practices.
  • Business minded people leader and results-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and customer service. Self-starter, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general or technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Effective at coaching employees for optimal performance.
  • Must have demonstrated abilities to operate within a planned budget and manage cost within established goals.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
