THE POSITION

This position supports the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the PA Army National Guard's (PAARNG) Energy Program through monitoring, tracking, investigating, analyzing, and reporting energy and water consumption and costs for the purpose of mitigating costs and providing recommendations to the Energy Program Specialist (EPS) and to bureau leadership. You will assist both the Energy Program Specialist and Energy Project Manager (EPM) in supporting the mission of the PAARNG in a range of utility and infrastructure related tasks and projects. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Management Technician, you will provide a hypothesis of potential causes from source building systems, such as lighting, HVAC, and plumbing. Work includes determining other ancillary causative factors to include heating and cooling degree day results, age and efficiency of HVAC systems, and number and type of work order repairs. In addition, you will provide management with potential effective mitigation courses of action such as system replacement, component repairs, and insulation upgrades.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (7.5 hours per day; 37.5 hours per week)
  • Work hours are 1st shift (8:15 AM to 4:30 PM), Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time with (5) days a pay period in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.

Additional Requirement:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Experience working with utility systems and utility bill management
  • Experience working on or around building systems, facilities management, and construction
