Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Person in this position will be responsible for general Veteran supervision and general program operation. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure the security of the facility through the continuous monitoring of the grounds and facility.
- General Veteran supervision in daily living Grant Per diem program and general program operation.
- Assist Veterans with overall therapeutic issues.
- Assist the counselor facilitating groups and meetings.
- Make copies of necessary program paperwork.
- Place documentation in Veteran files.
- Ensure all security checks occur at the specified time.
- Prepare Veteran activity reports and other reports as requested.
- Ensure assignments given to Veteran are completed.
- Ensure that Veteran comply with program rules.
- Monitor trip logs and conduct visual contact searches to ensure Veteran returning to the facility are not under the influence of any substance.
- Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
- Must Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Military/Veteran preferred.
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a criminal background clearance
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required; and
- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.
- During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year experience in a residential social service setting providing services to adults/veterans/criminal justice/substance abusing population and/or equivalent experience and education combined.
- Associates Degree in Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Not applicable for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is primarily performed in a residential setting.
- Some outdoor activities may be required.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
