THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently on the lookout for a Electrical Engineering Designer to join our ATS Engineering team. Based in Langley, BC, Canada, this role is a prime chance for individuals passionate about technical design and product innovation. YOUR MISSION

Major Responsibilities:

• Design standard automatic transfer switches and control panels as part of the standard products team.

• Analyze customer specifications and datasheets, seeking clarifications from sales when necessary.

• Draft initial electrical diagrams, preliminary materials lists, and technical datasheets for client approval.

• Finalize comprehensive drawings, detailed BOMs, and technical blueprints, and manage material procurement.

• Undertake controller programming and configuration.

• Liaise with sales and production teams to resolve technical challenges.

• Engage actively in product development tasks, including product standardization, innovation, and cost-saving initiatives.

• Support product testing in the Test Bay (FAT) and, if needed, visit customer sites.

• Contribute to or enhance basic component and product designs, utilizing sound design tools and methodologies.

• Improve standard components and products, leveraging robust analytical techniques.

• Aid in addressing routine technical issues, demonstrating a strong problem-solving acumen.

• Potentially assist in gathering customer feedback and formulating basic product specifications, ensuring alignment with manufacturing capabilities.

• Help formulate standard test plans based on existing protocols for regular products or components.

• Undertake additional tasks as required.

ARE YOU THE ONE?

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Technology Diploma in Electrical/Controls, or demonstrable equivalent expertise.

• Proficiency in using Electrical Design Tools or Software i.e. SolidWorks Electrical, Dassault Systemes DraftSight, Catia, Eplan

• Recognized by piers to be ambitious, energetic, organized & highly motivated.

• Stellar communication skills in English, encompassing both written and oral dimensions.

• An inherent drive for innovation and continuous improvement with a keen sense of curiosity.

• Dynamic, methodical, and driven by initiative.

• Fluency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for company-sponsored authorization.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• 1-3 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in the Manufacturing domain.
