About this job

Description:

• Provide administrative support of the front desk by answering telephones, taking messages, routing calls, or notifying appropriate individuals, checking/sending faxes, assisting with scheduling or modifying patient appointments, maintaining/reconciling patient information in our computer system and physical charts, as well as performing quality control audits of those records.

• Coordinate patient communications for scheduling and/or modifying appointments, financial responsibility discussions, procurement of medical documentation from their referral source(s) either through direct live/phone communication, fax, and email as appropriate.

• Ensure that accurate patient records, insurance information and verification of benefits, and preauthorization are obtained as required for patient cases.

• Assist Clinicians and administrative staff with Work in Process (WIP) daily and maintain all case documentation in compliance with best practices established by the company, and to keep cases moving forward in a timely manner.

• Utilize effective communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized oral and written communication with all referral sources, patients, and caregivers to ensure the highest level of customer service.

• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and training as needed; reading professional publications, medical policies as released by Medicare/Medicaid and commercial and/or private insurances, as well as maintaining personal and professional networks.

• Maintain a clean office work environment including coordination of all office supplies. Manage office petty cash as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 1-2 years office administrative healthcare experience required.

• Experience with medical terminology, understanding of medical records (EMR/electronic health/medical record systems, and insurance requirements.

• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid preferred.

• Excellent Customer Service skills.
