Supply Chain Solutions Manager - (Great Lakes Region)

A leading manufacturer in the Great Lakes region is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Solutions Manager to join their team. In this critical role, you will play a key role in optimizing our supply chain operations, building strong relationships with vendors, and ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality products.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and meet customer demand.
  • Manage supplier relationships, build trust and collaboration, and repair relationships damaged by previous dealings.
  • Develop and utilize LEAN Supply Chain principles
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure on-time delivery and manage lead times.
  • Oversee production planning and scheduling of materials.
  • Perform Value Stream and Capacity Analysis at supplier locations and recommend changes in process/production to reduce lead time and waste.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain team to analyze and design strategies to programs,optimizing inventory levels, provide reduced lead times, buffer stock and dampering forecast variability
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a team of supply chain professionals.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, but relevant experience without a degree will be considered.
  • Experience with ERP implementation, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics D365.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, warehousing, procurement, and sourcing, ideally within a heavy manufacturing environment (Low Volume - High Mix).
  • LEAN manufacturing background is a plus, with a clear understanding of one-piece flow.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and build trust with others.
  • "Midwestern mentality" - collaborative, approachable, and team-oriented (aggressive personalities not a good fit).
  • Comfort living in a small town, ideally with existing ties to the Great Lakes region.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the region's climate, including cold winters and beautiful summers.
  • Experience managing and developing a team.
  • Experience building strong relationships with customers.
  • Experience with production planning and scheduling of materials.
