POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Camp Facilities Operations Manager at Ozarks Regional YMCA maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. They will ensure the camp is functional, well-maintained, safe, and clean for all participants. They will provide preventative maintenance measures as well as completing varied maintenance tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure the camp is functional, well-maintained, safe, and clean for all participants before arrival. Inspect activity areas to ensure no hazards are present and sets boundaries for the safety and well-being of the participants.
  2. Organize and prepare facilities for special rental events, family camps, summer resident camp, outdoor school events, and all other camp/conference functions.
  3. Greet campers and camp guests, answers questions, and support participants with all their camp needs.
  4. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all custodial, and maintenance, as needed and within budget.
  5. Manages the upkeep of main program areas, facilities, and equipment, i.e. waterfront, dining hall, recreational center, camper cabins, archery & Riflery areas, camp housing, and other camp areas on the grounds.
  6. Manages Mowing and trimming throughout camp property.
  7. Assures compliance with state and local safety regulations.
  8. Work within all established spending policies, adhering to operating budget restrictions.
  9. Manage and oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all owned and rented vehicles and equipment.
  10. Manage preventive maintenance programs of the Camp to ensure protection and enhancement of the Camp's property and facility assets.
  11. Develop and control annual plans, priorities, and budgets for facility operation and maintenance.
  12. Work with the camp or program directors in developing and prioritizing facility planning needs which may include but not limited to securing bids from contractors and managing projects.
  13. Work hands on with many varied facility maintenance tasks such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work, and to identify when a professional is required or more efficient.
  14. Occasional travel to other Ozarks Regional YMCA branches when needed to perform various maintenance task and/or assist with projects.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Prior facilities & maintenance experience preferred.
  3. Must have the ability to work with little or no supervision.
  4. Must have basic mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.
  5. Must have a valid Missouri driver’s license.
  6. Attention to detail and initiative to complete tasks.
  7. Mature and responsible individual with good communication skills.
  8. Must be able to align with and demonstrate the YMCA four core values on a consistent basis.
  9. CPR & First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days (training to be provided)

  3. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
