Outpatient Therapist

Salary: $35 per service unit

Strategic Therapy Associates is an established mental health provider with offices throughout Virginia. We are seeking an Outpatient Therapist (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LMHP-R, or LMHP-S) to help clients resolve mental health issues that are putting them in an at-risk status, as we work toward eliminating the cause for out-of-home placement or institutionalization while moving them toward positive change and self-sufficiency. We help clients resolve their own problems and restore appropriate hierarchy within families. We use and teach family systems interventions in our work with families.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Carry a caseload of outpatient therapy clients, providing mental health counseling services.
• Overseeing referrals, completing assessments, and working closely with case managers, school personnel, and guardians.
  
• Empower clients to resolve the issues that can lead to out-of-school placements, or that may result in institutionalization if not effectively remedied via lesser restrictive measures.
  
• Establish rapport quickly and employ creative, appropriate therapeutic techniques to best meet the needs of the individual client.
  
• Complete the required clinical documentation.

Required Education and Qualification:

• Must have the ability to successfully register as a Resident in Counseling (LMHP-R) or a Supervisee in Social Work (LMHP-S) with the Virginia Board of Health Professions.
