Job Summary:

Our HVAC/Facilities Technician will be working daily with our other Facility & Maintenance Team Members in all Clearwater/St Pete facilities to ensure the facilities are kept safe and operational. They will partner with the Operations Leadership Team to build a strong culture that is committed to achieving results -- all in focus of one thing -- Our commitment to the Customer.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with co-workers, supervisors and managers. The ability to analyze and solve problems, exceptional attention to detail, highly organized self-starter who can manage time, handle challenges, volumes of work and pressure to assist team members with issues and opportunities that arise daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Recognize safety hazards and unsafe conditions, and initiate action to eliminate any hazards.
  • Perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and related equipment across multiple facilities, perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.
  • Maintain inventory levels, inventory organization and order supplies as needed.
  • Perform daily tasks to ensure compliance with all City, County, State and Federal Guidelines.
  • Maintain and manage Hazardous Waste, Used Oil and Hydraulic Oil storage areas.
  • Maintain related records concerning time, labor and materials; maintain log of tasks performed and write reports as required. Complete and close out Work Orders in the CMMS and enter time worked and materials used
  • Keep work areas neat and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Working in a fast-paced environment, the candidate must have 3-5 years of HVAC & Plumbing experience in an industrial setting and possess an EPA 608 Certification.
  • Standard practices of the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
  • Theory of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Materials, methods and tools used in the operation and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable building codes, ordinances and regulations of State and local authorities pertaining to HVAC and refrigeration.
  • Hazardous Communication and RCRA Training are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Air Compressors and pneumatic controls.
  • Knowledge of Chiller Systems, Cooling Tower and Water treatment systems.
  • Read and understand Electrical Schematics and CAD Drawings.
  • Manual and electrical tools and equipment applicable to the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
  • Welding and soldering techniques.
  • Perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of District heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.
  • Knowledge of fire control systems, security systems and security camera systems.
  • Operate specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair, installation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
  • Knowledge of motor controls, plant maintenance and emergency control circuits.
  • Knowledgeable and practiced in Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO), Arc Flash, NFPA 70e, and building codes.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must have basic knowledge of computer operation for use on our energy management system Trane SC Tracer program and our Preventative Maintenance and Work Order system (CMMS: eMaint). Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word etc.)
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Routinely lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
