Job Description
Summary
Reporting to an Operation Supervisor for one of the world’s leading global providers of integrated logistics services offering air & ocean freight forwarding, customs brokerage, domestic transportation, contract logistics and distribution. The Outbound Supervisor role carries a varied set of responsibilities towards the inbound management of inventory within a 45,000+ square foot operation dedicated to a single client’s distribution and fulfillment needs. Administering & maintaining Quality Assurance processes, systems, and tasks in a dedicated role for a DC. Collaboration, implementation, and monitoring functions are key elements of the position.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with relevant quality, regulatory, and compliance standards
• Manage and execute the training and development of account personnel
• Conduct audits of DC operational processes
• Review and advise with regards to operations and quality documentation for the inbound operations of the DC
• Supervising 4+ account dedicated staff members
• Working with operations management and account supervisors to ensure high quality performance, strict process & safety adherence, and continuous improvement
• Support the execution of performance assessments, risk assessments, & quality investigations
• Perform customer facing functions including teleconference meetings, presentations, and email correspondence
• Other related duties as assigned

• Proficient ability to read and comprehend standard documents, email correspondence, and memos
• Proficient ability to compose clear and precise email correspondence
• Proficient ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, reporting staff, and other associates within the organization

• Ability to appropriately organize, prioritize, track, and record workload and deliverables across all levels of responsibility within the account/operation
• Ability to appropriately organize, prioritize, track, and record communication and deliverables within operational systems
Mathematical Skills

• Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs

Education
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Background/Experience Required
• 5 years of warehouse and/or distribution leadership (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Lower level management/supervisory role over staff/personnel within a distribution, warehouse, and/or 3PL facility
• Adequate knowledge, experience, and/or understanding of the supply chain industry
• Performance standards and KPI metric development
• Safety Compliance (OSHA etc.)
• IMS/WMS Systems
• Adequate understanding of value-added services
Background/Experience Preferred (but not required)
• Experience and knowledge of 5S, Lean, or similarly principled methodologies
• Kamishibai Management (Lean)
• Hazardous Materials Storage
• Reverse Logistics Management, Handling & Processing
Training and Certifications Required
• Competent levels of proficiency in administrative and reporting tools/applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
Training and Certifications Preferred (but not required)
• Forklift certification and/or license a plus
• 5S, Lean, or similar training/certifications
• Hazardous Materials Storage and Shipping
