Title: Lead Teacher

Job Description:

As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing care and education to children, serving as a team leader or co-leader. You will be responsible for planning and implementing the curriculum and collaborating with other teaching team members to assess the needs of individual children and work closely with parents.


Compensation:

Starting at $17.50, commensurate with experience and education.


Schedule:

Monday thru Friday (Must be flexible between 7:30 (AM) and 5:30 PM)


Minimum Qualifications:

- To be eligible for the role, candidates must hold either a CDA (Child Development Associate) or an AA (Associate of Arts) or higher in a related field.

- Minimum of 9 ECE/Child Development units, including core courses.

- At least two (2) years of documented experience in an early childhood setting.

- Current CPR Certificate, First Aid certificate, fingerprints, and TB skin test.


Responsibilities for Infant Teacher:
• Provide a safe and loving environment for the infants in his/her care
• Give bottles to infants as provided by parents
• Feed infants' solid foods as age appropriate and provided by parents
• Change diapers frequently and as needed
• Soothe infants by singing to and cuddling them
• Supervise infants on the floor as they play with age-appropriate toys
• Put infants in cribs for nap time
• Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean
• Track development using our developmental checklist and actively work on meeting milestones
• Develop plans and activities that are engaging and support developmental growth

 

Responsibilities for Preschool Teacher:
• Create plans for daily activities that re engaging and hands-on. No Worksheets!
• Foster a positive and healthy learning environment, promoting social-emotional literacy
• Ensure the classroom is always kept in a clean and safe condition
• Read stories with pizzazz and foster a love of reading
• Encourage creative thinking and learning
• Encourage problem-solving. Children are unbelievable problem0solvers when given the opportunity!
• Interact with other teachers and administrative staff in a kind and professional way
• Communicate with parents regarding child development and progress
• Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean
• Potty training support and/or diapering when needed


Requirements:

• Prior experience in a similar role

• Meet annual professional development requirements, per state regulations

• CPR/First Aid within the first 30 days
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Caring individual who enjoys working with young children
• Able to lift to 50 pounds
• Extended periods of time sitting on the floor and getting up and down
• Ability to work a shift in between 7:30 am-5:30 pm
• Reliable transportation to the Child Care center
• Great communication skills to communicate effectively with parents and co-workers
• Flexibility due to ratios
