Westerman is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Summary
The primary responsibility of the Kitting and Receiving Attendant is maintaining the influx and outflow of the parts crib.

The Attendant receives, stores and issues material inventory etc. for the plant. This position also unloads and
stores material in the proper locations and performs receiving transactions in a timely manner.

This role issues material via kitting and material requests to plant wide personnel and accurately performs system transactions while communicating potential supply problems to supervisor and purchasing to minimize production impacts.

A successful candidate is a self-motivated multi-tasker that utilizes a strong work ethic and communication skills to ensure all needs levels are met.


Responsibilities

  • Issue material to plant wide personnel and accurately perform system transactions.
  • Dispense inventory parts and supplies to employees.
  • Review and receive purchase orders and follow up on status. May enter information into the computer.
  • system (JD Edwards)
  • Communicate potential supply problems to Manager and purchasing department.
  • Maintain shortage log and kitting schedule for issuing of certain production components.
  • Other duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Job requires strong range of motion as well as standing through entire length of shift (10 hours)
  • Demonstrate basic math skills.
  • Must be able to count and label parts accurately.
  • Must be able to handle small parts.
  • Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and be able to stand for 10 hours a day.
  • Meets all metrics established through 45,90, and 180-day reviews.
  • Complies with the 5A’s of performance (Attendance, Attitude, Adaptability, Accident-free and Accountability)
  • Reports to work on time, with appropriate PPE. Makes necessary requests to obtain PPE. Must follow all safety policies and procedures.

Desired Experience

  • Knowledge of inventory control
  • Working knowledge of PC and Windows operating system (trainable for JD Edwards)
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent forklift/material handling skills
  • Basic math skills for verification of receipt quantities
  • 6 months of previous material handling experience or equivalent knowledge
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic
  • Standard safety training
