Job Description
The Sterling IT Engineer will assist Account Manager in the pre-sales, scoping and hardware recommendation to customers along with performing network assessments, security audits and new client consultations. The IT Engineer will need to communicate with customers as needed to keep them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages.
Education
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Engineering or IT Management role.
- A four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Equivalent education or work experience is required

- Expertise with one or more of the below disciplines is required:
- Microsoft: Exchange (2013 thru 2019), O365, Active Directory, Windows Server (2003, 2008(R2), 2012(R2), 2016, 2019), Hyper-V
- VMware: ESX/ESXi/vSphere, vCenter, Horizon View
- Dell: VxRail
- Cisco: CCNA or CCNP
- VPN connectivity troubleshooting and configuration (Cisco, SonicWall, OpenVPN, IPSec)
- Security: SentinelOne, DUO, CyberArk, Cisco Umbrella and other security related technologies
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Work as a self-starter in a remote environment under minimal supervision
- Prioritize time and tasks to ensure work products are delivered within prescribed program time frames
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all customer levels
- Work well under pressure whilst consolidating, communicating, and gaining agreement on multiple internal and customer stakeholder requirements
- Experience with Disaster Recovery plans and related technologies
- Able to clarify and assimilate information from different sources into a unified communication
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include assisting in the pre-sales, scoping, and hardware recommendation to customers. Mitigating support issues related to Microsoft’s core business solutions, WAN and Lan connectivity, routers, firewalls, security, and remote access solutions.
- Perform network assessments, security audits and new client consultations
- Participate in the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system: update agent scripts, respond to alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system reviews
- Document maintenance for all computer systems and network infrastructure
- Review business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the client road mapping, recommending potential options
- Provides detailed “As Built” documentation for any engagement that is executed on
The ideal candidate can address all the previously mentioned tasks, communicate with customers are required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages.
