Position Summary

The Physician operates in a team with other clinic healthcare providers and support staff. The Physician provides patient medical care to all age groups in an office-based, multi-specialty group practice. In addition, the Physician provides diagnostic and therapeutic medical services, while making reasonable and sound medical assessments and treatment plans.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery
  • Treatment of acute illnesses
  • Treatment of acute injuries
  • Prescribes and administers medications, performs routine vaccinations, and provides advice regarding personal health and hygiene
  • Requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Provides direction to both clinical and reception support staff
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications or Education, Training and Experience

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
  • Licensed in the state of New Jersey
  • Board certified or Board eligible
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice (i.e., family practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics)
  • DEA controlled substances registration
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) certification
  • Successful completion of CHC’s credentialing and privileging review upon hire and recredentialing as appropriate
  • Strong computer skills with prior electronic medical record (EMR) use preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, hospital personnel and community members
  • Skills to perform patient treatment procedures for most acute illnesses or injuries
  • Remains calm and effective in high pressure and emergency situations

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move between 10 and 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee may need to travel to healthcare practices.
