Crown Laboratories, Inc. is currently recruiting for an experienced Director of Human Resources Operations who will be responsible for supporting and driving the HR strategy of our global business, with a primary focus on HR Operations, including systems, processes, tools, compensation strategies, data, and analytics. This position will be based in Johnson City, TN, with travel required to other locations.

Position Overview


The Director of Human Resources Operations serves as a strategic business partner for a rapidly growing and diverse global organization. The Director will manage the day-to-day HR Operations, by optimizing the HR strategy and developing a strong values-based culture that aligns with and supports the overall business strategy. Will be responsible for oversight and development (continuous improvement) of comprehensive solutions for all areas of the HR function, focusing primarily on Business HR areas such as compliance, performance management, project management, HR Analytics, and development of appropriate systems and tools.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ongoing development and implementation of an HR Strategy that supports a values-driven, ONE-Crown culture of engagement.
  • Leads by example and acts as a role model for the organization by demonstrating high integrity, adaptability, and agile problem solving.
  • Lead and model Crown’s overall Human Resources approach to support a working environment which creates the highest level of productivity, cost effectiveness and teamwork in compliance with the Company’s overall business objectives.
  • Support leaders throughout the organization by providing coaching and development support.
  • Provide clear, consistent, and proactive support and coaching for departmental leaders across the organization.
  • Direct, develop, and lead the strategic initiatives and critical projects to optimize departmental efficiency, employee engagement, and other areas as needed.
  • Work closely with the HR Services team to inform and implement HR Services processes including payroll and benefit administration, talent acquisition, organizational development, talent management, etc.
  • Lead and supervise staff to ensure that department operates effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Lead structured Change Management initiatives.
  • Support integrated and comprehensive talent acquisition and retention programs to deliver skilled and talented workforce to meet the organizational needs. Ensure effective onboarding and integration of new talent.
  • Lead policy development to ensure compliance, consistency, and supports overall business and HR strategies.
  • Ensure employment compliance as related to all regulations, regardless of jurisdiction.
  • Continuously improve systems, processes and tools.
  • Duties will change over time. All employees are expected to demonstrate adaptability and willingness to grow with the business.

Job Related Qualifications/Skills

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline and at least 8 years progressive experience in an HR leadership role. Prior experience with international / multi national HR Management strongly preferred.

  • MUST have prior project managment experience on a wide range of complex and comprehensive strategic project initiatives from ideation through final implementation and refinement.
  • Should have extensive compensation planning and development experience to include comprehensive development and integration of complex compensation plans that are fit for purpose and market competitive.
  • Requires strong HR generalist knowledge, with demonstrated competencies across multiple HR disciplines, including, total rewards, talent acquisition/integration, communications, risk management, compliance/labor laws, workforce planning and organizational design, data/analytics, and culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and leverage HR functions to deploy resources and programs that positively impact the business.
  • Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationship and leverage HR functions to deploy resources and programs that positively impact the business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a diverse, multi-cultural constituent group.
  • Prior project management and structured change management experience strongly desired.
  • Previous M&A experience helpful.
