We’re looking for one 3rd, 4th or 5th year apprentice to add to our electrical team:

  • Must be a licensed apprentice who has at least 6,000 hours completed!
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Care about doing a great job, the right way, on time.
  • Get along well with others and communicate well.
  • Be coachable and good at learning new things.
  • Enjoy traveling and being away at a job for up to 6 weeks at a time.
  • Enjoy physical work.
  • Follow safety rules.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs. or more in the regular course of work.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and your own reliable transportation.
  • Love to travel and drive around the country.
  • Be able to pass a background and drug test.

This position works in stores at night while they’re closed to re-route check lanes, install electrical for refrigeration and other commercial electric needs.

JOB TITLE: Electrical Apprentice

EMPLOYER: DisplayMax Inc.

DEPARTMENT: Electrical

REPORTS TO: Assigned Master Electrician


SUMMARY: The Electrical Apprentice will travel with a small team to our retail clients where they will complete all electrical components of the job and help with other aspects as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, install, or repair electrical systems and components (i.e., fixtures, switches, receptacles, etc.)
  • Perform electrical work in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and company safety standards
  • Install equipment and fixtures according to manufacturer’s specifications
  • Perform minor carpentry work as needed (replacing drywall, painting, etc.)
  • Maintain electrical systems by ensuring proper wiring and equipment usage; replacing light bulbs, light switches, etc. as needed
  • Troubleshoot issues; diagnose problems; and provide appropriate solutions
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems: replace wires with wire of appropriate size, replace cables with connectors, etc.
  • Maintain records of work performed and repairs made
  • Clean work area and wash parts.
  • Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.
  • Any other duties needed to help drive to our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Driver’s License
  • Reliable transportation
  • Appropriate Electrical License and at least 3 years of experience as an apprentice (6,000 hours)
  • Required schooling
  • Knowledge of current NEC, and State or Local electrical codes.
