Ecological Equipment Operator - Products - Foley, MN

Position Overview:

The Ecological Equipment Operator, Products is responsible for equipment setup, operation, cleaning and maintenance, while also assisting with all aspects of native seed production and farm operations. This includes planting, spraying, weed control, prescribed burning, harvesting, seed cleaning and more.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs all duties pertaining to the usage and operation of a variety of farming equipment, including cleaning, setup, and operation. Equipment includes agricultural tractors, skid-loaders, combines, mowers, and other equipment used for seed production.
• Cleans, prepares and operates combines and other harvest equipment.
• Assists with the fabrication and modification of equipment.
• Assists with both mechanical and hand field work, which includes planting, spraying, weed control, harvesting, prescribed burning, and seed cleaning.
• Completes documentation of maintenance and other work activities as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Several years agricultural experience preferred, which includes farm equipment operation and maintenance.
• Able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Must be mechanically inclined, this position often requires creative modifying of equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up and carry to 50 lbs.
• Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach and move as needed in order to complete various agricultural/seed production duties.
• Prolonged periods of time standing.
• Able to work long hours, including early mornings, late evenings and occasional weekends; work hours may vary depending on season.
• Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
