POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the director, the Maintenance Staff will provide friendly and excellent attitude, skills, and services for facility maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Be knowledgeable and adhere to Safety Policies, Procedures and Emergency Response Plans. Always keeping Safety at the forefront of your mind.
2. Assist with routine general maintenance such as basic painting, changing light bulbs, etc.
3. Replenish supplies daily.
4. Follow a daily, weekly, and monthly check-off lists to maintain facility appearance.
5. Continuously work to achieve satisfactory scoring on facility inspection reports.
6. Must be able to perform minor maintenance responsibilities as assigned such as drywall patching, painting, changing filters, minor repairs, and upkeep.
7. Contact necessary law enforcement agencies, fire department, supervisor, etc. in the event of abnormality and/or unusual occurrences and sound alarm as warranted or instructed.
8. Record unusual events or occurrences and/or inform responsible person(s) as instructed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
3. Must have the ability to work with little or no supervision.
4. Must have basic mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.
5. Attention to detail and initiative to complete tasks.
6. Supplied references will demonstrate dependability and reliability.
7. Mature, responsible, easy-going individuals with good communication skills.
8. Must be able to align with and demonstrate the YMCA four core values on a consistent basis.
9. CPR Pro & First Aid Certification required within the first 30 days (training can be provided)
