Job Description

About the role:

This role will be part of our MAGMA team and will be responsible for the safe operation of the submerged combustion melter. Also, will be involved in organizing and executing startup, operation and shutdown related activities.

Will work in shifts, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the submerged combustion melting machine, the finer, the forehearth and the support systems, including, among others, exhaust, cooling and batch systems.

Key Responsabilities:

  • Will monitor the fusion process and make appropriate changes based on the situation.
  • Respond to alarms and identify malfunctions, correct operation and/or refer to supervision.
  • Correct minor problems with industrial equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance.
  • Perform quality checks and enter data into the correct quality spreadsheet.
  • Work with the team of operators to complete non-routine tasks related to start-ups and shut-downs.
  • Produce accurate and concise system status reports as requested.
  • Think analytically and propose process improvements.
  • Perform daily line cleaning to maintain a clean working environment.
  • Monitor the feeding process and respond to alarms as required. 

Travel Requirements:

Travel up to 20% may be required to other O-I/MAGMA facilities.

Qualifications

About you:

  • You have experience in manufacturing or production preferably
  • Familiarity with high-temperature industrial processes and controls
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Electromechanical experience will be a plus
  • You are a good communicator and understand that teamwork is key to a team's success

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $81,200 USD. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
