Job Description
Work with the Director of Product Management to assist in the development of the annual product plan with quarterly updates and the longer-term product roadmap, aligning with the annual product plan. This candidate needs to have a strong understanding of emergency warning lighting and siren systems, and an understanding of 12 and 24 vdc systems.
· Demonstrates SoundOff Signal’s Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers
· Lead the product management strategy for identified product categories and markets
· Lead cross-functional core teams to develop product requirements and roadmaps in a timely and cost-effective manner for identified product categories and markets
· Incorporating feedback and input from customers, partners and in-house teams on product strategy and finding ways to expand product market reach
· Develop and implement product strategies consistent with company vision and financial expectations
· Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products – work with and through current product analyst as appropriate for research
· Work with cross functional teams to ensure products and releases are launched meeting or exceeding agreed upon success metrics (quality, cost and timing)
· Work with the innovation team to make recommendations to expand product base and features to ensure market leadership
· Recommend and work with engineering teams on product VA/VE planning and execution
· Manage pricing strategies that include margin and ROI in the identified product categories and market
· Lead market feedback on product impact for measuring product success, market acceptance as an input mechanism for life cycle planning and next generation features for identified products and markets
· Manage administrative functions within the job responsibility that include budget, supplier relationships, contracts, and other administrative activities
· Ensure consistency and coordination of effort across all assigned regions managing/optimizing the use of internal resources (personnel, expense budgets, capital…) to provide the greatest benefit
· As requested, coordinate Product Management and Marketing objectives with key industry technology, manufacturing, and distribution alliances
· General support to Product Management, Sales & Marketing strategy, and day to day tactics.
· Support marketing managers with identified marketing assets
· Support the execution of the product marketing plan(s)
· Generate and support marketing reports and analysis as it relates to marketing responsibilities
· Review KPI of marketing efforts for continuous improvements
· Solicit feedback from both internal and external stakeholders on market efforts for development, market needs & continuous improvements
· Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness
· Other duties as assigned
Product Management, Business Administration or Relevant Degree. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
· MBA is desired
· 2 - 5 years in product management, product marketing, or related field or equivalent experience.
· Experience with a product development team up to and including interfacing with the factory regarding launch of the product
· Experience working through distribution a plus
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
· Effective writing and presentation skills
· Proven time-management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects
· Strategic, creative, innovative, and forward-thinking
· Proven ability to understand high level technical products, concepts, and technologies
· Emergency vehicle market experience is a plus
· Strong analytical and business case development experience
· Strong data analytics to evaluate and interpret data to develop strategic direction
· Flexible, fast learner who thrives in a constantly changing work environment
· Strong leadership skills
· Ability to work productively in a collaborative team environment
· Works well under pressure
· Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment
