Job Description:
Performs a variety of production electrical and mechanical assembly and inspection operations at a basic to intermediate level.
Responsibilities:
· Wire, solder, and assemble fabricated components to make electrical and mechanical assemblies.
· Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.
· Assist with repairs to assemblies that fail to meet requirements.
· Utilize established Best Known Methods on assigned product lines.
· Meet established build time and quality standards on basic and intermediate tasks.
· Follow assembly work instructions, drawings, quality assurance procedures, and directives from department leads.
· Report problems with work instructions, procedures, mechanical parts, electrical continuity, or anything else negatively affecting quality to the Lead or Supervisor.
· Organize and complete work assignments in a timely manner, limiting unproductive time.
· Seek to improve skill set and learn new assembly methods.
· Contribute improvement ideas and respond to change productively. May provide input for work instructions.
· Maintain department cleanliness.
· Follow all company safety policies and Quality Assurance requirements.
· Overtime as required.
· Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.
Qualifications:
· Ability to assemble and solder small components utilizing a microscope.
· Ability to accurately identify components.
· Able to conduct precise measurements.
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handling frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
· Excellent hand/eye coordination and dexterity.
· Strong mechanical aptitude for use of tools in production operations.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions and wiring drawings, etc. that are written in English.
· Basic problem solving and interpersonal skills.
· Must be detail oriented, accurate and methodical.
Education and/or experience
· High school graduate or equivalent degree preferred or related work history experience accepted.
· Minimum one (1) year assembly experience, including one (1) year of soldering experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
· Previous experience soldering under a microscope highly preferred.
