Job Title: Maintenance Planner & Scheduler

Market Title: Maintenance Planner & Scheduler

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler is responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work control processes by managing work priority, developing job plans, defining parts, materials, crafts, labor estimates and skills. Assigns work control plans to appropriate Supervisors for execution by the hourly maintenance staff. Provides equipment-related expertise; technical guidance on improving maintenance activities and may supervise both hourly Nueske employees and contractors as required. This position is the owner / manager of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) at the enterprise level. The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler has direct supervision of the storeroom MRO attendant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

PLANNING

  • Develop PM’s for all machines/equipment according to OEM recommendations (scope & interval) and enter into CMMS
  • Develop detailed planned work packages from preventive and predictive findings and other maintenance activities for all maintenance teams.
  • Reviews completed work orders for completeness and accuracy, updates and supervises updating of machinery history data in the CMMS system. Analyzes historical data to take action to mitigate reoccurring issues.
  • Track and report monthly PM completion rate, open work orders and planned vs. reactive maintenance breakdown hours for all pieces of equipment, including but not limited to mechanic labor hours spent.
  • Assist other subject matter experts with the implementation of a CMMS system.
  • Consult with OEM technical staff to gain knowledge for improving the PM process.
  • Chairs weekly planning meetings with key stakeholders to inform them on historical and upcoming maintenance activities.

SCHEDULING

  • Attend daily production meetings to understand production and equipment needs to efficiently manage maintenance work orders and schedule planned maintenance activities.
  • Organize and coordinate all maintenance PM’s, Work Orders, and Projects to include the following: project work material and ordering, Kitting work order and project work for efficient downtime utilization, scheduling work order and project work against available hours and skill sets.
  • Produces a weekly maintenance work schedule as well as a projected work schedule. Using the CMMS system, forecasts work force needs for equipment maintenance.
  • Work closely with production scheduling to optimize maintenance work during planned production downtime.

MATERIAL and CONTRACTRACTOR CONTROL and MANAGEMENT

  • Manage maintenance parts, supplies inventory process flow and contracted repairs.
  • Assist with coordinating with suppliers and OEM’s warranty returns/repairs.

CMMS MANAGEMENT

  • Collaborates with other subject matter experts with the implementation of a CMMS system.
  • Maintain all elements of CMMS system, assets, parts lists, work request, preventive maintenance tasks and schedules.
  • Trains maintenance personnel in proper maintenance reporting procedures for out-of-specification findings, and in the use of CMMS software as a maintenance management tool.

GENERAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  • Ensure compliance with the Nueske safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements while following the company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Day-to-day support of the maintenance technician staff and relationships with vendors.
  • Comply and enforce all SOP requirements, procurement procedures, safety requirements, capital and operating accounting practices, and company policies.
  • Participate and support maintenance related continuous improvement campaigns.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree required in a related field and/or 2 years of planning experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing mechanical, electrical and PLC planning
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn CMMS inventory management system.
  • Analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills and abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication required.
  • Well experienced with Microsoft suite of products. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Power Point
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of discretion.
