Position Qualifications


Education: Bachelor’s degree, ideally in mechanical or industrial engineering or four to six years of equivalent experience

Experience/Skills/Abilities: Two to three years’ experience in manufacturing operations

  • Demonstrated drafting skills with emphasis on 3D model manipulation
  • Demonstrated the ability to thoroughly interpret the intricacies of detailed manufacturing prints
  • Experience in supporting both manufacturing software and hardware. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage internal customer needs while obtaining sustainable results.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to learn and adapt to new processes is a plus.
  • Experience with nationally recognized testing laboratories such as UL (Underwriters Laboratories). Background in sheet metal manufacturing, welding, paint systems and electrical and electronic component assembly a plus.
  • Ability to use fundamental lean tools and well versed in problem-solving techniques.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learn existing processes to develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions associated with fabrication, welding, paint, final assembly and special processes.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and CI engineers to develop standard procedures for both fabrication and final assembly departments.
  • Monitor and track all active MECOs for relevant changes and update composer standard work files as necessary.
  • Record and track process based on the demands of metrics.
  • Time study to confirm routing accuracy.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not routinely supervise others. On occasion, however, this individual may be asked to fill in for absent production supervisory personnel. In this role, responsibilities include assigning and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Travel Required: Occasional; a valid driver’s license and ability to insure employee as a driver under the company auto policy is required.

Hours: Regular 40-hour workweek. Overtime as needed.

Working Conditions: Office and/or manufacturing plant floor setting. Required to sit, stand and frequently move about the facility. Required to use safety glasses and other PPE in specific areas. May occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
