Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for an energetic person who would love to support the banquet department in the kitchen. We are looking to bring on someone who shares our passion for food, wine, and superior service. Ideal candidates are highly motivated and effective at working in a fast-paced team environment. In addition, shares our passion for hospitality and creating exceptional and memorable experiences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Coordinates, oversees, assists with scheduling and training of the Cooks in the preparation of food that is of consistently high quality to satisfy customers and maximize food revenues
- Ensures that all cook’s duties have been performed during shift
- Prepare and properly garnishes all food orders in accordance with menu specifications, that results in high qualify of taste and appearance to satisfy guests and maximize food revenues
- Prepares food in a quick/timely manner for service and special functions, insuring that all stations are set for forecasted covers
- Assists F& B Director with planning and implementing menu design and creating suitable dishes
- Ensure Cooks follow recipe designs for all food preparation
- Maintains health/cleaning standards as established and required by the state and local Health Board inspections
- Organizes the day’s prepping for the cooks and restaurants; supervises line set-up and prepping. Conducts follow-up to ensure prepping has been done for each shift and/or next day
- Establishes kitchen check lists and ensures that they are completed by staff
- Rotate food stock/inventory in keeping with industry standards and practices
- Prepares and/or participates in the food inventory and ordering process
- Report any equipment failures or service needs
- Coordinates and assists with banquet food production
- Any and all other tasks deemed necessary by management
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. At least two to three years of related experience and/or training required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire if not already certified
SKILLS AND APTITUTES: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively. High quality standards for production and service. Maintain a professional and courteous environment. Good team player. High level of morale and productivity.
