Summary

Protos is looking for an experienced and energetic Litigation Paralegal to join its’ growing team. Together with other members of the team, the Paralegal will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Protos’ administering and tracking all incoming insurance claims and litigation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following as well as other related duties that may be assigned as needed and as the role and company evolve:

  • Intake and tracking of all new pre-litigation and litigation claims from initial notice through settlement or judgment
  • Compilation all necessary internal documentation from numerous internal teams to assist in adequately evaluating claims
  • Regular and frequent coordination with insurance claims representatives and outside counsel on new and existing claims
  • Collaborate with legal team members regularly on status of all claims
  • Coordinate with insurance appointed counsel on active litigation matters including assembling internal documents in response to discovery as well as coordinating schedules for internal stakeholders relative to case related appearances such as hearings, mediations and depositions
  • Monitor statutory and rules changes related to the security industry
  • In addition to these day-to-day responsibilities, the Paralegal may be expected to work with senior leaders in the Company on strategic initiatives and essential workstreams
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Experience / Qualifications / Education:

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or 5+ years relevant experience with no degree
  • 2+ years experience in the legal field
  • Possesses a high degree of autonomy and attention to detail to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while following through on claims in a timely manner
  • Self-motivated, flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Westlaw, Practical Law a plus
  • Team player with a willingness to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both internal and external facing as well as written
  • Strong listener; able to think quickly and prescribe solid solutions
  • Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff
  • Must possess strong writing skills and the ability to communicate professionally in written responses
  • Self-starter, can work independently or with a designated group
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and analytical; able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
  • Ideal candidates will have strong communication, project management, and organizational skills
