Job description:

Community Financial Credit Union invites you to apply for an internship with our Information Security Team! The Information Security (InfoSec) team is responsible for securing Credit Union information. They manage, configure, and/or implement various security products, policies, and procedures all in an effort to keep our member's information safe and secure.


The Information Security Intern will work with members of the Information Security team on security items including but not limited to: researching, designing, engineering, implementing, and supporting the various technical and security controls that the Credit Union employs. This position regularly collaborates with members of the Technology Solutions & Support Team as well.

A Day in the life of an Information Security Intern can look like:

  • Research, design, and support enterprise security solutions with a focus on best practices.
  • Participate in evaluating new technologies and applications for the organization, assessing vulnerabilities and risks, detecting and responding to incidents, and recommending appropriate safeguards.
  • Work with the Technology Solutions & Support team to develop and ensure secure and hardened network communications.
  • Monitor and review the network, devices, and servers for security vulnerabilities and violations; the timely application of network/system remediation; the improvement and standardization of security systems; and anomalies or potential security breaches from logs, alerts, events and reports.
  • Recommend new security hardware and software solutions to ensure the safety of confidential information.
  • Assist in driving and implementing Windows security integrations.
  • Research and stay up-to-date on industry standards and new vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Perform other duties as directed by leadership.
