Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.

Position Overview: As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing quality education and support to students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment that fosters academic growth and personal development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Create engaging and differentiated instructional materials and activities to support student learning goals.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in core academic subjects, social skills, and life skills development.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure integration and inclusion of students with special needs in the general education curriculum and school community.
  • Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote student success.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, behavior, and academic performance.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on support strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Georgia Teaching Certification in Special Education
  • Prior experience working with students with disabilities preferred
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
