Look no further, Qualified Staffing has the job for you! Our client is newer to the Upper Cumberland area, and they are adding a Sr. Designer, Product Developer to their team!

SUMMARY: The Sr. Designer, Product Development and Trend will develop and execute product designs from concept to execution to achieve overall product strategy and merchandise objectives. This position is in Baxter, Tennessee.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creates leading edge tile collections for national and regional distribution.

• Collaborates to develop both short and long-term plans for overall product strategy as well as the design, development, and introduction of new products.

• Develops the storytelling of the designs. Presents and communicates new product concepts and programs to leadership, field sales groups and customers as needed.

• Identifies and meets with new and existing vendors to evaluate new product opportunities. Develops relationships with vendors to provide best quality and the lowest cost.

• Supports brands and finds leading edge trends and inspiration by attending/visiting markets, trade shows, events, and meetings both domestic and internationally. Conducts market research and identifies/tracks market trends.

• Drives and adheres to product development objectives and schedules for all phases of product development and introduction to market.

• Determines product portfolio gaps, such as price point, colors, new technologies and customer needs.

• Collaborates with technical design and approves final product in the lab and at the factory.

• Supports Sales Team creating trends reports and product presentations for specific customers or events.

• Supports and assists in photography direction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, Product Development, Marketing, Engineering or similar discipline, 7 years of work experience in product design in lieu of degree.

• Prefer 3 years of product development experience related to industrial ceramic tile production, including the knowledge of glazes, frits, ink’s reaction, different printing, and decorating systems.

• Prefer photography experience.

• Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines consistently.

 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Photoshop in each of the following areas:

· concept creations

· graphic editing

· color correction

Competencies:

· The Designer will be known as a trusted, collaborative, and results-oriented business partner who can lead through influence and who possesses professional maturity and industry credibility.

· Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to effectively interact with team members, management, and other internal and external customers and to build positive interpersonal relationships with various business partners in a cross – functional environment.

· Consistent, proven ability to manage and implement projects and to contribute to concept development.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• One or more direct reports. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Increase employee engagement by creating a culture of ownership and accountability.

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Domestic travel Up to 60% - International 30%
