Medical Insurance Biller

Onsite: Placerville, CA 95667 area

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Range: $21 to $25 per hour (depending on experience)

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in facility or hospital billing and a strong understanding of medical insurance processes and regulations. As a Hospital Insurance Biller, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely billing submissions and reimbursement for medical services provided by our facility.

What you’ll do:

  • Review and analyze patient medical records to determine appropriate billing codes and ensure compliance with insurance regulations and guidelines.

  • Prepare and submit insurance claims to various third-party payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance companies, and managed care organizations.

  • Follow up on outstanding claims and denials, identify billing errors or discrepancies, and take appropriate action to resolve issues and maximize revenue recovery.

  • Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and other stakeholders to resolve billing inquiries, verify insurance coverage, and obtain necessary authorizations or pre-certifications.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records, including patient demographics, insurance information, and billing codes, in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with other members of the billing and revenue cycle team to streamline processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure optimal financial performance.

What you’ll bring!

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility or hospital billing in a healthcare setting.

  • Proficiency in medical billing software systems, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems, and insurance billing regulations.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, insurance companies, and colleagues.

  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification or other relevant credentials preferred, but not required.


 



Pay Details: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour
