Virtual - Teacher for the Visually Impaired - Virginia

Location: Virginia(Remote)

Position Overview: As a Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you will play a crucial role in supporting and educating visually impaired students in a virtual learning environment. You will collaborate with students, parents, and other educators to create an inclusive and effective educational experience tailored to each student's unique needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide virtual instruction and support to visually impaired students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
2. Develop and adapt educational materials to meet the needs of students with visual impairments.
3. Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning experience.
4. Conduct assessments to determine students' strengths, challenges, and progress.
5. Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance the learning experience for visually impaired students.
6. Foster a positive and inclusive virtual learning environment that promotes engagement and participation.

Qualifications:

1. Valid Virginia teaching certification for the visually impaired.
2. Experience working with visually impaired students in a virtual or remote setting.
3. Proficiency in utilizing assistive technology and adaptive resources.
4. Strong munication and collaboration skills.
5. Ability to individualize instruction based on students' unique needs.
