Part-Time

Greeting and escorting guests to tables in the restaurant, maintaining a courteous and efficient operation of the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction. Answering the phone, taking room service orders, and restaurant reservations.

DUTIES

Work Performed:

1. Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, and then escort them to their table and present menu. Also hang up guest's coats and introduce the food server for the evening's meal.

2. Read, maintain and make daily entries in the logbook to coordinate communication between shifts and management.

3. Maintain proper set-up of dining room and enforce uniform and grooming standards of all service personnel on a daily basis.

4. Make floor plans

5. Conduct daily "roll call meetings" to keep staff informed of current promotions, daily specials, guest comments, daily events and pertinent memos.

6. Maintain host desk & all menus tidy/ clean/ neat

7. Receive, record and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.

8. Take orders for room service in complete and timely manner.

9. Maintain an open line of communication between guests, management and other team members.

10. Refill guests' beverages as requested and take beverage orders when necessary.

11. Observe all safety procedures during the execution of assigned duties.

12. Knowledge of resort layout.

13. Work efficiently as a team.

Responsibility & Authority:

1. Knowledge of restaurant operations, service equipment and guest relations.

2. Ability to read the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials.

3. Ability to speak the English language sufficient to conduct small team member meetings to impart new information.

4. Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.

5. Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests.

6. Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to graduation from high school that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school diploma preferred. Restaurant supervisory experience preferred. Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available). Full flexibility to accommodate varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Ability to effectively communicate in English with guests and co-workers.
