Wisconsin Building Supply operates locations throughout Wisconsin supplying windows, doors, roofing, siding, millwork, lock hardware, columns, trim, mouldings, cabinetry, countertops, decking, railing, gypsum, lumber & plywood, insulation, and other building materials.

The position consists of the use of computer technology and mathematical calculations to prepare a material estimate needed for the construction of commercial and multi-family structures in accordance with company guidelines. This position will collaborate with other team associates in assembling a complete project proposal for assigned contractors and end users.

Pay Range: $22.00-$26.00/hour

Essential Job Duties:
  • Estimate structural and framing materials, like lumber and plywood, needed for construction projects according to company guidelines and local building codes.
  • Assist sales associates as needed with contractor orders and materials lists.
  • Review estimate material lists, construction documents and procedures with sales associates.
  • Review estimated vs. supplied materials upon completion of each project.
  • Complies with company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by location management.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Minimum education: Technical or Associates degree in a related area preferred.
  • Minimum experience: Construction or building materials related experience preferred, but not required.
  • Related skills: Ability to read construction plans and technical documents, general problem solving, and is detail orientated. Willingness to learn new construction techniques and procedures.
  • Technology skills: Ability to operate networked computer systems, project management and estimating software programs. Proficiency in MS Office is required.
  • Communication skills: Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge required: Understanding of measurements and basic math principles.
  • Physical demands: Sitting for extended periods of time, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting 25 pounds occasionally.
