Summary: The Bilingual Human Resources Generalist administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity, payroll processing, and HR compliance. They can fluently speak Spanish and English to assist a diverse group of IE employees.

The candidate must be Bilingual in English and Spanish.
General Human Resource
- Remain current and up-to-date on legal and government reporting regulations to ensure human resource and payroll policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Maintain a working understanding of employment law, including FMLA, WARN, OSHA, FLSA, and other applicable state and federal laws.
- Track, manage, and assist in the development and maintenance of accurate job descriptions.
- Manage various HR metrics for internal information purposes.
- Organize and keep employee files up to date.
- Assist in tracking and managing HR data including new hires, terminated employees, etc.
- Maintain records of benefits plan participation.
- Advise supervisors and managers in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Respond to inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
New Hires and Orientation
- Plan and deliver new hire orientation, including the introduction to company policies, benefits, and cultural expectations.
- Act as a positive representative of the company for new hires by presenting an outgoing, friendly, and helpful first impression.
- Use the E-Verify system to report new hires.
- Track, manage, and appropriately file all onboarding-related documentation including but not limited to new hire check sheets, supervisor checklists, and benefits information.
Benefits
- Assist in the administration of benefits programs such as health, dental, life, EAP, and disability insurances; retirement; and PTO.
- Assist in benefits renewal cycles, ensuring proper enrollment, communication, and compliance.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility. Help problem-solve employee issues with benefits and serve as an advocate and liaison between employees and our Insurance broker.
- Assist in 401K Program administration by approving loans and withdrawals in accordance with plan policy.
Employee Issues and Terminations
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Investigate employee issues and complaints, following legal and IE best practices.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Completes final paycheck, termination of benefits, and COBRA notices.
- Responds to unemployment insurance requests.
Payroll
- Track employee time and vacation hours. Facilitate temporary employee's time sheet submittal.
- Maintain accurate employee timekeeping and PTO usage. Perform adjustments when needed.
- Assist with the management of bi-weekly time approval. Ensuring PTO is submitted, missing time is accounted for, and all approvals are completed as required by accounting or payroll process.
- Ensure payroll is completed on time and accurately. Review payroll data information to verify accuracy such as tax withholdings, payroll deductions, employee deductions, pay adjustments, etc.
- Retain and maintain accurate payroll records in compliance with applicable laws.
- Ensure files and payroll information are secure and confidential.
- Track and pay employee garnishments and court orders.
- Complete employment verification requests.
Other HR Related Duties
- Contributes to the development of the Human Resources strategic objectives and assists in the execution of the resulting plans and objectives.
- Provides input into the development of HR, systems, policies and programs in support of the organization's culture and overall strategic plan.
- Comply with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Regular and consistent job attendance.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources or a related field; plus three to five years of related experience and/or training in a comparable HR role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
- Strong process orientation, analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Excellent project/time management and organization skills and ability to work under dynamic deadlines.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products and comprehensive knowledge/experience with HRIS systems a must.
