Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and directing the facility maintenance operations in a 24/7 production environment. The primary focus is to ensure safety, quality, production efficiency, and adherence to budgetary parameters. This position requires strategic planning and leadership to meet company objectives and maintain compliance in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in the development and execution of plant strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Support engineering team with plant capital projects from inception to completion, including scope development, budget adherence, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Direct and manage plans and specifications for external contracting work, including the bidding process, prioritization, and procurement in coordination with Plant Manager approvals.
  • Oversee maintenance part and supply inventories, manage purchasing activities, and address supply shortages to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective preventative maintenance programs for facility infrastructure, utility systems, production machinery, and equipment to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot technical maintenance issues, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime and optimize production output.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Maintenance Supervisor and team, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance withgood manufacturing practices (GMP), corporate, regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees, ensuring compliance with state and federal health and safety regulations.
  • Attend required training sessions, including safety, GMP, HACCP, and SQF, to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
  • Be available to respond to emergencies or unexpected operational requirements, including nights, weekends, or holidays.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience in maintenance leadership, preferably in a production environment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills with a working knowledge of PLC, logic, and computer control systems
  • Demonstrated ability to support large capital projects from conception to completion
