Salary: $19-$25+ Hourly DOE

About This Role:

Cardinal Civil Resources is currently looking for an employee with high integrity and an excellent attention to detail to fill a position as a Civil CADD Designer.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Civil CADD Designer, you will:

·        Produce CADD drawings and design layouts

·        Performs mathematical calculations and checking of field data

·        Reads and understands plans and specifications

·        Reviews rough Sketches, drawings, specifications and other engineering data received from engineering staff

·        Meeting with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review plans, specifications, and design drawings

·        Creating surface and solid CAD models according to client specifications

·        Working with a design team and individually on CAD projects

·        Reviewing CAD models with the client and making minor adjustments

·        Conducing final model rendering and delivering the final product

·        Interprets engineering data to effectively and efficiently complete assigned tasks

·        Completes detailed drawings from sketches, plans, specifications, and written/verbal instructions using computer-aided drafting programs

·        On occasion, accompanies survey crew in field to locate grading markers or to collect data required for revision of construction drawings

·        Actively assists the Project Manager (not for at least a year), and assigns task and schedules to Project Engineers and team members, answer questions and monitor progress

·        Assists the client in bidding and/or pay applications if authorized by the Project Manager

·        Monitors construction and supervises field personnel assigned to a task, data collection or a specific project

·        Responds to contractor questions and issues, and coordinates with Project Manager in issuing project addendum as needed

·        Participates in the creation of engineering services proposals, including calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work

·        Acts as technical expert on assigned projects when operating as an individual contributor and acts as Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned

·        Provide drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining AutoCAD drawings that compile to create a set of permissible plans

·        Prepare working drawings from conceptual plan to final engineering documents and construction record drawings

·        Must be able to coordinate multiple projects while allocating production in a timely manner to meet required deadlines

·        Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of engineers

·        Preparation of plan and profiles of roadways and associated infrastructure (drainage, utilities, traffic control)

 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: A high school education or equivalent is required including a background in math, geometry, and trigonometry.


EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working in Civil Engineering environment.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Carlson Civil Suites with IntelliCAD (Primary) required

·        GIS (second)

·        Basic geometry and grading

 

ABILITIES:

·        Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

·        Must have essential requirements: professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.

·        Must possess strong attention to detail and an intense level of accuracy.

  • Valid driver's license with insurable record
  • Must have Reliable Transportation
  • Background Check and Drug Testing Required

·        Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally

·        Must be able to drive a vehicle safely regular/occasionally

·        Must be able to deal effectively and reasonably with stress in the workplace without lost time or undue strain

·        Must be able to sit, walk, talk, and hear for extended periods of time

·        Must be able to type/key-in data and answer telephones frequently as needed

·        Must have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus

·        Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations

·        Must be able to wear personal protective gear regularly/occasionally

·        Physical ability work including bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, sitting, standing, running, and climbing stairs

·        Must adhere to company policies, safety plan, and the project safety plan
