Aqua Yoga/Fitness Instructor

We are looking for experienced Aqua Yoga/Fitness Instructors to conduct classes at the CHS Aquatic Center in Gilroy, CA. This is a seasonal position beginning May 25th to August 18th 2024. Aqua Instructor responsibilities include: overseeing, directing, and guiding individual or group participants to achieve personal and/or group goals. Developing and executing all workouts and program design. Planning a progression and modifying all instructions based on the clientele. We are particularly interested in establishing an Aqua Yoga program - applicants with a strong yoga background are encouraged to apply.

We are an E-Verify participating employer. Upon hire, applicants may be subject to a background check and/or drug test per facility requirements.

PAY: $30 per hour

HOURS:

• Spring: May 25 - June 9, 2024 (Closed Mondays)
  • 6:00 - 7:00 PM (W/F)
• Summer: June 11 - August 18, 2024 (Closed Mondays)
  • Aqua Aerobics
    • 6:30 - 7:30 PM (T/W/F)
    • 10:00-11:00 AM (W/F)
    • 10:00-11:00 AM (Sa)
  • Aqua Yoga
    • 10:00-11:00 AM (T/Th)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidates must be 18 years of age with a HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Current and valid ARC or equivalent certification including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, AED*
• Current Aquatic Fitness or Water Aerobics Certification through the following recognized organizations: ASFA, AEA, AFPA, or equivalent certification pending approval from management.
• Ability to pass pre-employment verbal skills and program design tests.
• 1+ year(s) of aqua aerobics or 2+ years of group fitness/personal training experience, in a leadership role preferred.
• Strong customer service background preferred.

*Need certifications? We offer 50% reimbursement on all certification courses after 45 days or 1 season of employment (minimum 1 shift weekly).

BONUSES:

• $150 NEW HIRE BONUS & 50% Reimbursement for Lifeguard Training following successful completion of a full season (Memorial Day to Labor Day)
• Gas reimbursement (upon agreement) of $0.65 to the gallon.
