Tryfacta is seeking a __Pharmacist____ for our clients in Forrest City, AR 72335. This role is an 2-month contract assignment.

Schedule: Work will be performed between the hours of 6:00 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally consisting of six (6), one (1) hour sessions per day, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period, (if applicable). The facility's need will vary based on the work requirements/requests of the Chief Pharmacist / Staff Pharmacist but is expected to require an average of 30 sessions per week.

Job Duties

  • The function of this position is to provide a wide range of pharmacy services and administrative procedures that only a qualified
    licensed pharmacist can perform (e.g., medication interactions, patient education and pharmaceutical care). The satisfactory
    completion of his/her duties will provide the basis for a complete and comprehensive Pharmacy program.
  • All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Pharmacist services,
    and compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations.
  • The Contractor shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the Bureau of Prisons, AAAHC, The Joint Commission
    (TJC) and American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions. The manner and
    method of performance are the sole responsibility and within the sole discretion of the Contractor, provided, the Contractor performs
    the services in accordance with standards and practices consistent with those in the community. The Contractor's performance shall be
    monitored by the COR. The Contractor must have the ability to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional,
    racial and ethnic backgrounds.
  • The function of this position is to provide a wide range of pharmacy services that will provide pharmacist coverage in the absence
    of the Chief Pharmacist during annual leave, extended sick leave and continuing professional education. Only a qualified, licensed
    pharmacist can perform the following e.g., dispensing and certifying prescriptions in the medical record, identify medication
    interactions, patient education and pharmaceutical care.
  • The services provided, will be provided in the method commensurate with the local community. These services, although not directly
    supervised, will be reviewed by Chief Pharmacist on staff at the FCC Forrest City. The performance of these services will also be
    verified by the designated COR.
  • The Contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to:
    • Interpret physician and advanced practice provider prescription orders.
    • Enter prescription orders into the pharmacy computer and print prescription labels.
    • Select the correct medication and prepare the prescription.
    • Inventory medication and supplies.
    • Enter data for medications and supplies order in the prime vendor computer system.
    • Maintain minimum quantities on stock items and notify the institution pharmacist of items to order.
    • File all reports pertaining to the pharmacy, including patient records.
    • Dispense, administer and record entries for the required medication.
    • Possess a working knowledge and maintain technical computer skills pertaining to Pharmacy issues.
    • Must participate in Improving Organizational Performance Data and Quality Assurance Activities as directed
      by the Pharmacist or HSA.
    • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
    • Refill and inventory of Pyxis machines & utilization of Scriptpro machine for dispensing, refilling and verification.

Job Requirements [Skills, Education, &/or Experience]

  • Uniform Requirements: The Contractor must wear appropriate and professional attire or scrubs at all times. The Contractor is prohibited from wearing khaki or green clothing of any type as this is the color clothing the inmate population wear.
  • Employee Health Requirements: The Contractor shall ensure that the pharmacist is free of infectious diseases. Any individual performing as a licensed pharmacist under this contract who subsequently develops a medical condition which might reasonably be expected to place other workers, patients, or the public at risk shall be immediately removed from activities requiring performance of invasive procedures and activities which might reasonably be expected to place other workers, patients, or the public at risk. In any such case, the Contractor shall be responsible, at no additional cost to the institution, for securing the services of any replacement personnel required to contract performance.
  • Academic, Experience, and/or Special Qualifications Required: The individual providing Pharmacist services under this award must maintain a current, unrestricted Pharmacist license. The applicant must have completed an accredited program in pharmacy and be able to provide transcripts of the training leading to the degree (Possession a Bachelor or Pharm D. degree). Shall have a current CPR certification, and BLS certification. Correctional experience is preferred, but not required. The contractor must possess knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems and of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment. Possess the ability to relate and deal effectively with physician, peers, inmates, and others; to recognize, report, and record changes in patient's physical and emotional condition; and to administer medication.
  • The Contractor must complete initial position and departmental orientation, and annual training thereafter. The Health Services Administrator, or designee, will ensure all elements of the required training are completed.
  • Restrictions on Contract Workers: The Contractor shall not supervise inmates, supervise Bureau of Prisons staff, participate in inmate accountability, requisition, sign for, or pick up supplies, formulate policy or procedures, or attend meetings, staff recalls or staff functions.
  • Patient Management: Patients shall be accorded impartial access to treatment or accommodations that are available or medically indicated, regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin, or religion. Services provided under the sponsorship of the Contractor shall be departments/services of the medical or dental department. Staffing shall be commensurate with the expected needs of the patients and within the scope of services offered. The Contractor shall not provide information to the inmate(s). If the situation arises, where inmate(s) are required to be provided information, the Pharmacist shall provide any information the inmate(s) are to receive. The Contractor is required to maintain an open line of communication with the Health Services Administrator.
