Paradigm Precision specializes in the manufacturing of complex fabrication and precision machined components for gas turbine engines. We serve customers around the world in commercial and military aviation, power generation, the marine industry, rotary wing, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Purpose/ Summary

Create and develop CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) programs using engineering models, drawings, and specifications. Provide manufacturing with safe, accurate, and efficient CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) programs complete with tools, fixturing and set-up requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under limited supervision:

  • Provide programming writing/support for various CNC 3, 4 and 5 axis machines
  • Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of the parts to determine the dimension and configuration of the cuts
  • Select the appropriate tools and machine speeds and feed rates according to the machine shop processes, part specifications, and machine capabilities.
  • Write the instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide set-up and operation of the machine
  • Document all set-up information
  • Review and provide support for fixturing design
  • Evaluate new cutting tools
  • Optimize existing programs
  • Ensure quality control standards are maintained
  • Maintain production schedules from prototype run to production
  • Provide shop floor support for the life of the program
  • Participate in process development including but not limited creation of detailed router instructions, operation sheets, tool selection and fixture and tooling design
  • Collaborate with all manufacturing and quality functions
  • Work with customers and suppliers to resolve process and design issues

Supervisory Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of machine probing, RFID tool identifications, selection of Tool types for different material and applications,
  • Experience with Speed and feed selection for different tool types
  • Strong GD & T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) understanding
  • Experience with Third wave Optimization software ex
  • Thorough understanding of quality control procedures
  • Sound project management skills
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing principles
  • Able to interpret complex blueprints
  • Thorough knowledge of G-code programming
  • Effective written and verbal communications
  • Able to read, write, and speak in standard English
  • Legally authorized to work in applicable country

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical degree
  • Unigraphics NX experience, including creating 3D models, Tool Sheets and Sketches

Work Environment:

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, argon, braze alloys, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil-based lubricants and cleaning solutions.
  • Occasional exposure to moderate cold and extreme heat.
