· Associate’s degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field preferred, with at least five years working experience in production scheduling or inventory control in a manufacturing environment. If no degree, 7 years’ experience in related field.
· Experience applying JIT, 5S, and other Lean Manufacturing methodologies under a continuous improvement (Kaizen) philosophy.
· Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office programs.
· Experience with AS400, PowerLink/XA, inventory management systems, back flush locations and materials transfers required. Knowledge of, or experience in, designing, development, and/or implementing cycle count systems.
· Must be able to work self-directed in a fast paced environment. Ability to seamlessly transition between working independently to working as part of a team is required.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: (duties may vary depending on production schedules)
- In conjunction with Logistics Management / Production Management/Supervision in the development of schedules for raw materials, and manpower with respect to customer demand versus resource capabilities and availability.
- Establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels within the manufacturing facility for all raw material and finished good products in support of customer demand and ship schedules.
- Work with the Logistics Manager to develop schedule for scrap material using the company plan and systems.
- Working with the Logistics Manager to develop and procure support based on inventory variances.
- Establish and maintain Kanban throughout the plants, inclusive of warehouse
- On a daily basis, investigate / correct & determine root cause of inventory variances; reporting results to Logistics, Operations and Plant managers.
