What You'll Do

The General Manager’s primary duties include supervising and coordinating all operations and sales related to PEAK’s Saugerties, NY location. The General Manager generates a significant impact through the strategic and tactical direction that they provide to the Operation and Sales teams. This position reports to the Director of Operations- Newport-New York in a direct reporting relationship and is located in Saugerties, NY. The ability to travel to various job sites all throughout New England is required.

The Day-to-Day

  • Under the guidance of the Director of Operations Newport-New York, assists with directing staff management in all operating and customer service departments including direction, coordination, and evaluation
  • Assists in overseeing all operations aspects
  • Assists in the day-to-day duties of the sales team
  • Review orders for accuracy and pricing
  • Attends site inspections to evaluate properties for upcoming events as needed
  • Assist the Director of Operations Newport, managing the location’s annual budget and ensures operational adherence to budgetary objectives
  • Consults on operational processes needed to address new challenges and growth
  • Partners with the Director of Operations Newport- New York to determine workflow processes for operation
  • Assists with the recruitment and training of key hires to implement business plans and objectives
  • Continuously improve client satisfaction ratings on all events with a goal to always exceed client expectations in safety, job performance, product, and event production schedules
  • Assist in developing job costing tools to report on the profitability of large projects
  • Attend regular department meetings to improve communication between Sales, Warehouse and Field teams
  • Develop and execute a maintenance program for all required inventory
  • Partners with Fleet manager to maintain Fleet and adhere to all DOT Policies
  • Assist in developing Safety SOP’s for the location
  • Assist with bi -yearly physical inventory and make recommendations on inventory levels based on data driven reports
  • Monitor and document all production and delivery failures to identify root causes and to avoid preventable issues in the future
  • Coordinate with the Director of Operations Newport – New York to create and execute seasonal staffing plans
  • Provide support to all other Company team members as needed.
  • Performs other duties, as needed

  • 7-10 years of management experience in logistics, warehousing, or related industry
  • Extensive knowledge of tent construction
  • Knowledge of inventory control and management principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage and direct diverse staff
  • Ability to multi-task and manage workload imbalance
  • Ability to work independently as well as in groups
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and manage risk
